Petsburgh Pet Care’s mission is to provide exceptional pet care to dogs and cats throughout the Greater Lafayette area. For over two decades, our team has had the honor of keeping your pets’ health up-to-date, giving them a home away from home, and ensuring they leave our grooming salon feeling fresh!

Dr. Tom Shutes

Veterinarian, Clinic Owner

Dr. Tom Shutes has been caring for pets at Petsburgh Pet Care since 2004 and proudly became the owner of the practice in 2022. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Purdue University in 2001 and went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue in 2004.

Dr. Shutes enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine but has a particular passion for surgery and the opportunity it provides to improve patients’ comfort and quality of life. While he enjoys working with all animals, he has a special place in his heart for dogs, cats, and even chickens.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Shutes enjoys camping, reading, and spending time with his family. His household also includes three dogs—most notably Bruce, his 140-pound Great Dane, who keeps life interesting and, more often than not, covered in drool.

Dr. Rose Robertson has been practicing veterinary medicine at Petsburgh Pet Care for more than two decades and continues to bring compassion and experience to every patient she sees. She earned her undergraduate degree in art from Ball State University before pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University.

Dr. Robertson enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and helping pets live healthy, happy lives. Her many years in practice have given her a deep appreciation for the special bond between people and their animals.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Robertson enjoys spending time with her three children—Natalie, Faith, and Jake—and traveling to warm destinations like Anna Maria Island. Her husband, David, shares her love of travel. Their family dog, Duffy, is a mixed-breed rescue who survived distemper and now enjoys a much healthier and happier life.

Dr. Kathryn Snyder joined the veterinary team at Petsburgh Pet Care in March 2025. She earned her undergraduate degree in Wildlife Science from Purdue University before going on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University.

Dr. Snyder enjoys the variety that veterinary medicine offers and values the opportunity to help pets live healthier, happier lives. She especially enjoys building relationships with clients and supporting the human–animal bond through compassionate care.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Snyder enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors. She also has a passion for music and has played the alto saxophone for many years. At home, she shares her life with three cats—two of whom were rescued and adopted from outside the United States.

Kayla Winemiller is a Fear Free Certified veterinary assistant who has been part of the Petsburgh Pet Care team for more than a decade. Originally from Vincennes, Indiana, she attended Vincennes University before transferring to Purdue University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 2012.

Kayla enjoys working closely with patients and helping them feel safe and comfortable during their visits. She appreciates the opportunity to support both pets and their families while assisting the veterinary team.

Outside of the clinic, Kayla loves spending time with her partner, Caleb, and her stepson, Landon. Their home is full of animals, including cats, dogs, rats, and chickens. When she has the chance, Kayla enjoys kayaking, hiking, and collecting rocks and crystals.

Outside of work and school, Nyla keeps her faith at the center of everything she does. She enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and challenging herself as a powerlifting athlete.

Outside of work, Megan travels and competes in dog sports including dock diving and lure coursing with her two Icelandic Sheepdogs. Along with her canine athletes, she also shares her home with a retriever mix and multiple cats.

Tricia enjoys working with a variety of breeds and helping each pet leave the grooming salon looking their very best.

When she’s not grooming, Tricia enjoys spending time with her husband, their two boys, two dogs, and three cats. She loves being outdoors and especially enjoys anything related to baseball and cheering on her favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.

Amber Mings is a groomer at Petsburgh Pet Care who followed her passion for working with animals after initially attending cosmetology school. She joined the Petsburgh team in 2022 and began grooming professionally in 2024, bringing creativity and care to every pet she works with.

Amber enjoys helping pets look and feel their best while building trust with animals that may be nervous about grooming.

Outside of the clinic, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband and taking their dogs hiking. She also enjoys playing video games and has a special love for anything related to animals—or dinosaurs.

Certified dog groomer at Petsburgh Pet Care with six years of grooming experience. Born and raised in Illinois, she first attended cosmetology school before discovering her passion for working with animals and transitioning into pet grooming.
Monserat especially enjoys the creative side of grooming and takes pride in helping each pet look and feel their best. She values the opportunity to combine her artistic background with hands-on care for animals.

Outside of the salon, Monserat enjoys spending time with her two daughters and relaxing at home with her dog and cat. In her free time, she appreciates a good nap and recharging for another day of making pets look their very best.
